Human Trafficking
Human trafficking is a global issue.
Make no mistake, its a local issue as well. Southern California and especially Los Angeles County, San Bernardino County and Orange County has seen an increase of cases of human trafficking every year with a 19% increase between 2018 and 2019.
California had over 1500 known new victims of human trafficking in 2019, one of the highest rates in the United States.
71% of victims are women
70% of victims are adults and half of all victims are between the ages of 19-33
Many trafficking victims find themselves in situations they cannot see themselves out of.
Working side-by-side with our courts systems, we welcome women who have committed minor crimes due to human trafficking and abusive circumstances. The goal of the Vine Project is to equip these women with a second chance and give them all the tools to do so.
Where Help Comes From.
Our mission:
Teaching young women using emotional, social, and educational tools that they are not defined by their past and can create their own future.
